Born and raised
in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in August 1987, Penny
Phang moved to Vancouver, Canada, to continue high school and further her
studies. After attending University of British Columbia for Marketing and Public
Relations, she later graduated with a Degree in Graphic Design and Communications.
To further her portfolio, she also obtained a Diploma in Marketing and Fashion
from Kwantlen University College. Miss Phang spent the next 2 years extensively
involved in marketing, communications and design with the Creative Department
at Mainframe Entertainment Inc., the world's award-winning pioneer in Computer
Generated Imagery (CGI) Animation, where she worked closely with major industry
names such as Sony Pictures, Imax, Hasbro and Mattel. Soon after, Miss Phang managed
and directed Simplex Communications Group, a strategic marketing, communications
and events company, where she worked with high profile organizations such as Electronic
Arts (EA), Young Presidents' Organization (YPO) and Playboy Enterprises Inc. (PEI). Aside
from her corporate involvement, Miss Phang has also earned credibility in the
entertainment industry through her acting, modeling and hosting skills. She is
well known as the former Playboy Special Editions Producer for Western Canada,
and former Top 20 Special Editions Celebrity Model. As a producer, her work has
graced the cover and pages of Playboy Magazine in Japan, Playboy Lingerie Magazines
in the U.S., Playboy calendars, and dozens of other Playboy Special Editions Magazines.
As a model, her inspiring personality was transformed into "Penny"
the 3-D animated character for Electronic Arts' Def Jam Vendetta video game. During
her broad range of business involvement, Miss Phang was also well recognized for
her marketing and communication services for some of Vancouver's most notable
corporate, entertainment and hospitality establishments. She has promoted and
hosted numerous events involving local and out-of-town celebrities, and high profile
businesses and individuals. Her unique style and attitude of servicing humanity
has been known "to create moments that positively inspire." In
September 2003, Miss Phang was nominated for Canada's Top 40 Under 40, a national
awards program founded and managed by The Caldwell Partners International (Canada's
first and most respected executive search firm). This award honors Canada's best
and brightest young achievers who are outstanding leaders in shaping the future,
and have reached a significant level of accomplishments before the age of 40. As
Miss Phang continues her commitment to provide strategic business services with
creativity and innovation, in 2004, she was welcomed into the online gaming industry
to provide strategic online marketing service for Bodog.com, the pioneer in online
gaming. She was also welcomed into the diamond industry to provide strategic internet
marketing service for APFD (A Passion for Diamonds), a luxurious diamond company
that is closely linked to Forbes and the prestigious De Beers Diamond Information.

Phang was a member of Graphic Designers of Canada (GDC), and the Founder and President
of Design Centre Student Representative Committee (DCSRC) at Kwantlen University
College. Along with this, she was able to form a team of highly motivated individuals
to plan, organize and promote events to raise funds for design students. She was
later honored with an award for her services and exceptional public relation skills. For
Miss Phang, life isn't just about interacting with others at a professional level,
but also at a social level. "A good balance of both can lead to optimum results
mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually." After winning the title
Miss Molson Indy Vancouver 1999, she was involved in numerous promotional and
public relation events. This was the starting point of her career in entertainment
that led to her skills in modeling, hosting and producing. Miss Phang is
also very involved athletically. She holds 2
black belts in Karate (Kenpo, since 1988 and Freestyle, since 1998) and was
a member of the West Coast Warriors National Karate Team. She was a competitive
swimmer, and member of the former Vancouver Extreme Dance Team. Today, she continues
these activities at her leisure with the addition of golfing, wall climbing, weight
training, traveling, singing, learning about wine, painting and playing the piano. As
one of the committed supporters and sponsors of World Vision Canada, Miss Phang
is actively involved in donating to its Emergency Response Unit, as well as sponsoring
two children (Lasi Sibanda, since 1994 and Doreen Komunjumba, since November 2003).
Today, as she furthers her contribution by serving on the Board of Directors for
Imagine 1
Day (a non-profit organization focused on advancing primary education and
relieving poverty in developing nations), she has extended her portfolio to include
